Sida is Sweden's aid authority. Through collaboration with civil society, authorities and companies, we work for sustainable development and create conditions for people living in poverty and oppression to change their lives. They specify the budgets, the countries with which Sweden - and thereby Sida - is to work with, and the focus of Swedish international development cooperation. The Director General is the head of Sida and has the ultimate responsibility for ensuring that the decisions of Parliament and the Government are executed.
