Shayne O'Reilly

Director and Associate General Counsel

Shayne O’Reilly is the head of licensing and open source at Meta Platforms, Inc. (formerly Facebook, Inc.) where he leads a team responsible for IP licensing and transactions, standards, open source, M&A IP due diligence, and academic collaborations. Shayne previously served as Associate General Counsel for IP litigation at Meta/Facebook where he managed domestic and international intellectual property litigation matters. Outside of work, Shayne enjoys working with non-profit organisations and serves on the board of The Ron Clark Academy and the Silicon Valley Urban Debate League. Shayne has received the Silicon Valley Business Journal 40 under 40 award, MCCA Rising Star award, and National Bar Association Diversity in Tech award. Shayne is a registered patent attorney. He earned his bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from North Carolina A&T State University and his juris doctor from the UNC at Chapel Hill School of Law.
