Senior DNA Engineer

Renata Caikauskaite is a dedicated professional with a strong background in cell and molecular biology. She obtained her PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology in 2019. Following the completion of the PhD, Renata embarked on a career as a Research Associate in Mammalian Gene Expression at the University of Sheffield. During her role as a Research Associate, Renata demonstrated her expertise by designing novel synthetic DNA constructs with context-specific, industry-required criteria. These designs aimed to enhance recombinant protein production in Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cell lines. Her research and development efforts yielded industry-relevant proof-of-concept data, which in turn supported the potential spin-out of a new company. Today, this company is known as Syngensys Ltd., where Renata joined last year. Currently working as a Senior DNA Engineer at Syngensys, Renata plays a crucial role in designing and developing novel nucleotide sequences for engineering recombinant gene expression in mammalian cells. With a strong passion for advancing biopharma research and a proven track record of expertise in molecular biology, Renata continues to drive innovation and contribute to the field.
